FOOD SECURITY IN THE STATE OF KUWAIT THE ROLE OF FOREIGN FOOD TRADE IN ACHIEVING

Abstract
The state's food security is achieved through local production usingavailable local resources and the use of productive methods to achieve maximization of agriculturalproduction. The stateimportscommodities through trade to achieve and provide commodities to the population, and food security is achieved through commodity supply, whether from production or imports, or both. important role oftradein thecompletion of theprovision of thepopulation need food commodities towhichthe deficit and achieve acertain level of supplyin themarket to bring aboutstability and thebalance of theeconomy of thestate. The study showed that agricultural imports doubled during theperiod ofincreased agricultural deficit, andthen rose deficit food balance interms offood imports doubled byabout 400% and rising deficitin thefood balance of about 1021 million dollars to about 3942 million dollars during theperiod 2010 -2016and increasing quantities ofimports from Poultry meat, milk, fish and vegetables, the decrease in the amount of imports of red meat, the absence of imports of eggs, and a surplus from 2009/2010 it became clear that food security expectedin2030increasesinmeat, eggs and milk, and decreasesinpoultry meat, fish and vegetables. Conclusively, the research recommends the need to expand foreign trade in order to raise the Kuwaiti economy as well as meet the needs of the population.
