Abstract
The research aimed to study and analyze the economics of sugar beet production in the region of Sahl al-Tina, and study the problems that faced sugar beet farmer and their proposals to solve it.
The research found several results: the sugar beet harvest in Sahl al-Tina is a cash crop with a profitable return to farmers. Therefore, care must be taken to cultivate it and increase its cultivated areas in order to achieve many targets, private and national. The most important factors influencing the total production of sugar beet crops in the study were the area, manure, nitrogen fertilizer and human work. It has also been shown that the average productivity of feddan is more than the volume of the most profitable production of about 0.23 tonnes/ feddan. The average net income for the sample averaged about 3309.25 pounds, and the monthly net income was about 472.75 pounds, and the average return on the pound about 58 piasters. There are several problems face the production of sugar beet crop in Sahl al-Tina area. The research concluded with some recommendations that would expand the cultivation of the sugar beet harvest and improve its productivity in newly reclaimed lands.
